La Ensenada Sanctuary \u00a0is a new alternative to rest and meditate in a peaceful atmosphere of nature surrounded by beautiful flowers and birds that will make you forget that is only 2 hours from San Jose.<\/p>\r\n
Beautiful view of Nicoya Gulf, mangroves and salinas, nature trails and warm cabins equipped with hot water, terrace overlooking the Gulf , Safe, sky coffered unique details and surrounded by green areas and in the middle of the forest, will be your travel companion.<\/p>\r\n
You will be part of the typical life of the Costa Rica area and enjoy our great menu Italo Costarricense.<\/p>\r\n
An ideal place to stroll on horseback, naturalists, birdwatchers and all nature lovers in general.<\/p>\r\n
The farm of 800 acres is administered by Tretti\u00b4s family and is dedicated to cattle, horses, and also production of salt. We have developed a three steps reforesting program:\r\n- A natural return to the forest enviroment, that was degraded by cattle farming,\r\n- Plantation of local species in selected areas,\r\n- And plantation of exotic species .<\/p>\r\n
Today we are proud to have more than 30% of the farm covered by forests, which helps to mantain the natural habitat. Since 1977 we have been working in defending what has been declared a \"National Wildlife Refuge\", and we include the mangroves zones at the end of the Abangares River.<\/p>\r\n
The area is very important because it has one of the last primary and secondary forests of the northern Puntarenas province.<\/p>\r\n
The area covers three types of wet enviroments: mangles, sweet water, and a line on the Golfo de Nicoya shore. These ecosystems are of vital importance and they must be preserved.<\/p>\r\n
